1. what's a meme?
2. if anyone wants to say anything to me about my writing style or my stories, they're welcome to, here or via email, at any time. and they always were, of course. i wonder how many people are getting responses to those quizzes? cause it is so MIGHTILY true that people are afraid of feedback--afraid to get it and to give it. er, the real LOC kind, i mean.

what's a meme?

Um, something that's all about you? Like, it's all about me! Me! Yeah. Or not. I don't know, man, I'm stuck on the French meaning.

the real LOC kind, i mean

Which is? Comments that aren't nice? Or comments that are a little more profound than "I loved it!", nice or not? Or anything that makes you think about your writing, whether the feedbacker intended to do that or not? What about when someone tries to give constructive criticism, but it falls flat on the author?

<-- pondering/wondering out loud, don't mind me

A meme is like...well, I don't know how exactly to explain it, but consider the example - Every culture, past and present, has had some sort of 'Divine Force'. It's been implanted in the human brain, and it seems that everyone has that urge to create or explain or tell about their deity.

The meme is like a repetitive...trait? I guess? That makes us want to create our own little...world. Other memes might be like, dancing, or their own form of art.

Yeah.

I can't explain stuff.

Oooh, are you reading Snow Crash? It's pretty soft science fiction and has linguistic overtones : )

I defer to shadowleopard who explained it as well as I could.
