This amuses me. Anyone who thinks Remus Lupin is gentle and mild is obviously not reading PoA carefully. The man was ready and willing to kill Peter right along with Sirius, he faced down a dementor by himself, and he lied-by-omission to Albus the entire year even after it appeared that Sirius attacked Ron. Well-educated, calm, and polite, yes, but the man is not gentle and mild.
