how can you say 'wonderful characterization' about rps?

well, perhaps 'internally consistent' characterization? characterization that doesn't argue with what we know of them? is it fanon we're trying to agree with here, and not canon?

I know that when I use the phrase 'wonderful characterisation' in a critique, I mean (as you posit) that it's consistent throughout. Not to mention that the characters speak correctly for their nationality, and say & do things that seem likely (for instance, the men do not refer to each other as 'sugarpie').
