got up early, rode bus to turku. this weird bread for lunch, which purported to be italian. walked all over. international office at turku uni spectacularly unhelpful. then, lessee... shopping. which was not fun. we bought an eclair and a... waffley...thing. and eclairs may be the ONLY thing that is larger in finland than in the us, other than, say, snow piles. bought... present. for mommy. and gjallarhorn! we missed a concert by a few days, but i got the new cd. (did i even know they had an old one? wax is so helpful. only i think i'd better not buy it. still have to get more presents.) (skating on lumpy ice. NO.) (but i REEEEEEEAAALLLY wanted dejelil och lagerman.)

so wax and i are agreed that it makes sense there being no slash for -y tu mama también-, and yay for cuarón directing poa. and not so much the new remus, but... hey.

and then we got home and my poppet was there! and i helped shovel snow, rather in the shake n bake sense only less helpfully. with a broom. it snowed yesterday. there is still ice EVERYWHERE.

ok, fine, whatever, i still want to read some. but the one i found... it was ok but it was rather jarring to be reading them speaking english. and since i can't read spanish... yeah, too bad for me.

the canon was pretty clear on what happened. they had clearly never had sex before. then they did. once. and never again. you could do au, but that feels cheatingish. the end was satisfying, though not happy. and i wouldn't want to fuck up the characters.

wax says the characters were too stupid and stubborn at that point in their lives to make anything of it, andthey lost the chance. they could meet ten years later (speaking of aus), which upsets the balance of the movieverse. but could be done.

the only slash i'd entirely condone would be spacklings of relevant scenes. and the boys are stupid, so, like. neither one of them quite realizes, at the time. even during the sex, i bet. their little faces when they wake up!

see, i agree with everything you're saying here. but it doesn't really stop me from wanting to read some. and it would be bad... because no good writer would bother with it for exactly the reasons you've listed. but that's pretty much what i want - some bad, formulaic, au smuttiness with a sappy and unbelievable ending. yup. i have no shame in this matter. i don't want the movie to be any different than it was. i just want some help indulging my own silly wants in this matter.
