meme by [livejournal.com profile] syxer7:

For each fandom, in reverse chronological order...
When: What years were you active in it?
How: How did you find it?
Who: Who was your primary/favorite character?
What: What media did you consume/produce?
History: What kind of fandom was it for you? Anything special about it?

due south, harry potter, lotr, lotr rps, star trek, and nsync

due south
june 02 - present
[livejournal.com profile] wax_jism used to write it, and [livejournal.com profile] southpaw526 determinedly bombarded me with recs.
i'm totally a fraser/kowalski girl. they're both a little difficult to write. i think i identify more with fraser and am drawn more to ray.
read tons of slash. whee. dabbled in writing. have seen just a few episodes of seasons three and four.
i've stayed on the outside of it, but it was a passionate love affair. reading all day every day for a few months and such. very OTP ish. the politics within are kind of ugly.

harry potter
late 01 - present
went looking for lists when i wrote a parody fic, went through some of the archives, mostly the ones associated with the snape fleet but also the remus/sirius ones.
harry/snape, remus/sirius. have read some remus/snape and harry/draco, but in small amounts due to widespread low quality. snape, sirius and remus are my favorite pov characters, and of those, remus.
original books read, but not slavishly. movies watched, but only once. fanfic consumed in middling quantities.
a low-maintenance fandom if you won't touch wips. i read it in little bits every now and then.

lotr
december 01-present
movie was coming out. read books. went looking for archive.
identify with frodo. will read nothing that violates f/s, m/p or l/g otps.
have read and recc'd, but i am very picky. am not extremely widely read. there's too much bad.
i stay on the fringes of the fandom, but i don't keep up with the fiction.

lotr rps
january 02-summer 02
was mentioned on a lotr fps list.
i would read anything at first, but quickly developed distastes for many things. now i can't read much of it. enjoyed writing viggo, was most successful at elijah, can't stand dom/billy.
making fun of the true believers, reading. mostly writing, and mostly early on.
a fast fling which soured quickly. we still keep in touch.

star trek:tos
march 01-spring 02
a link to mary ellen's work on the history of slash was posted to an nsync list and i followed it.
kirk/spock. can write both. identify more with spock, not surprisingly, but i have a better grip on kirk.
mostly writing, although from that you'd think i'd written a lot more. i also read pretty much everything there was, but this was in aid of the writing. oh, and watching all the episodes and movies. and talking about them incessantly. there's no new fic in it to read, so i've left. i may write more eventually.
very intense. i was active on the mailing list, one of the queens of it.

nsync
january 01-october 01
via nsync het, beginning, of all things, with nsyncgrrl and the yahoo nsyncslash mailing list.
at first i would read anything. my first favorite was jc/lance. of course, most of it sucks, so that put an end to that. then i settled on timbertrick, after which i was pretty monogamous and contracted a violent dislike of everything non-timbertrick.
was intense at first, petering out in the summer, when i got sick of wading through badfic and got into writing trek.
