that makes either four or five formal e-mails to amherst and the university of turku combined this morning asking them to clarify their wobbly and vague bureaucratese. i fear i am losing track. and there seems to be a possibility i will have to *fax* a signed request to amherst. naturally i have no fax machine. to top all of this off, turku appears to want the supplementary materials for study abroad ENCLOSED, whereas amherst purses its lips in a superior manner about letting official documents pass through the students' own grubby hands. says the registrar, 'it will be marked 'sent to student' even if sealed and signed across the flap.' thanks for the heads-up, guys. now watch none of them respond! this is so fun. if i shade my eyes i can see may 9 in the distance.

Oh that is such bullshit. We accept enclosed things, esp from students not in the country, all it needs to do is be sealed and marked across the flap (and occasionally we'll just settle for sealed).

Sorry for all the bureaucratic nonsense :(
