Date: 8 Apr 2003 09:28 pm (UTC)I do not think lying is ok, just to say. It is almost always okay to withold an answer, I think. I shouldn't, for example, be required to tell anyone personal things about myself if I don't feel comfortable.
But if I've done something I shouldn't have, misdirecting or refusing to answer is a bit of a cop-out. And a non-answer will probably answer for me anyway, eh? heh.

i'd say no to both. it seems to me that that kind of a commitment comes with an obligation to honesty. but this poll's interesting if you look at the results. other people's opinions varied more than i thought they would.
