murder by numbers: fun to watch but not well-written. there were all these bits and pieces of ideas, but in the end, too much of the movie was about sandra bullock's, er, personal journey, and too little was at the gayness of the boys. however, said gayness had me constantly in stitches. they really were very cute. and very gay.

el crimen de padre amaro: the worst spanish language movie i've ever watched. if you like the concept, try to find an old one (70s? 80s?) that is called, i think, camila. this one again with the bits and pieces of idea--all over the place, though, and a lot bigger ideas. the protagonist hasn't got any lines. it's maddening. and stupid. it's like a long, movie version of a shakira song, but not as moving, and it doesn't rhyme.

in really gross news, i was at winn dixie (because of necessity of trying movie gallery, blockbuster being out of s1 queer as folk) and looking for black olives and encountered instead a 'hormel pickled product': pickled pigs' feet. 'partially de-boned.' can i just say omg? i actually peered at them for a bit trying to see if i could distinguish the little cleft, you know, and... ewwwww, they were all pink and squished in the jar like badly-formed pink pickles. i think they still had the skin on. gag.

My sister loves pickled pigs feet. She actually got a jar for her birthday a few years ago. It's quite sick.
