cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (writing)
I've been mulling over what to write, despite the fact that I haven't written anything since last December, I think. I've got two half-finished novels on my hands, one unwritten novel, and one novel in desperate need of revision. I'm thinking of finishing up the SGA one or changing all the names in the other one, since it's pretty much an original novel anyway, but it's hard to see how to categorise the high fantasy gay teen romance it then turns into.

My dad wants me to try to revise the managerslash novel I wrote in 2004 and sell it because he operates from the theory that no sale is a bad sale (which is easy to say when you keep publishing in Asimov's, but although I had a lot of fun with the managerslash, I don't expect to gain a lot of acclaim or even, quite likely, any money from it; besides which it will take a near-total rewrite before I'm willing to risk it being put into print). I also actually have a somewhat developed YA idea that came to me a few months ago that doesn't have any gay sex whatsoever. The exciting part is that despite that fact, I'm still maintaining an intent to write it. We'll see about all that.

This leaves aside the other things I've been planning to get into, like another episode of the (Arashi) Just Like Verse, for one. That might make a good writing exercise to get back into the swing, since it's bound to be short. While I'm on the subject of the term "Verse", let me just add something. Let me add... A RANT ABOUT THE TERMS 'AU' AND 'VERSE'. )

[livejournal.com profile] randwise_gamgee: I'd slash my managers, but they are all women.
cimness: you can!
cimness: you could write femslash!
[livejournal.com profile] randwise_gamgee: I don't know man.
[livejournal.com profile] randwise_gamgee: I don't think I can party with two vaginas in my brain.

mmmh. i love salt. x.x

that four hours of volunteer work made me feel GREAT. so great.

and Bald Manager is only twenty-two. (he's not really bald, but he acts older than that, so i thought he was. my spiritual big sister said when we met i was twelve going on thirty-six and i have been going on thirty-six ever since, but if that's the case he is going on forty-three. my guess was about twenty-four or twenty-five. he's quite naive in some ways--no way would i have thought thirty.)

you know what song i hate? that one that goes 'seven days and seven nights of wooooondeeeer.'

entries newly locked down to friends-only. not ALL of them! but you might want to log in.

hee, Bald Manager was wearing his baby-gingham-checked shirt today. i find this amusing. personally, i find the concept of a gingham dress shirt strange, not to say revolting. but it doesn't look bad.

[livejournal.com profile] randwise_gamgee has been teasing me by saying he will get a car, and show up and surprise me at work. with lip gloss on and his cute layered hair of gayness. wow, that'd be so cool. unfortunately getting a car isn't that easy, so i think i can't see him until *i* can visit *him.* probably not until june, i guess.

and k'sal has been unintentionally teasing me with a really long fabulous k/s she's working on. who knows when she'll really finish it? you can never be certain with k'sal; but she's working really really fast, for her, and she's got a lot done, so i'm hopeful. the parts i've read were really great. i can't really understand this desire to write established-relationship, but she seems to do it well, so i can't complain either.

i really want Rat-Frog Manager to wear the hair of cuteness some more. the next time he does, i want to tell him that. cause it's SO fabulous. rar. it's like the cutest male hair i've EVER seen, with the possible exception of randy's. and let's face it--Rat-Frog Manager's eyelashes just can't compete with randy's.

Bald Manager says 'y'all' a lot. i bet he can't pronounce foreign languages.

i've run out of meds--well, nearly--and i didn't have time friday to phone the iatrist. so i've skipped four days, not wanting to *really* use them all up, and this was an exceptionally small paycheck so i actually don't think i have enough left for even half the bottle unless my parents lend it to me.

well, bugger.

the four days are showing, too. i'm getting all moody. i've been on the verge of tears for an hour, i think, for no particular reason. except next week, all five days, i work great four and five hour chunks and will likely not be able to write even *once*, because it takes out all the productive part of the day and i need a few hours to get into my groove, and i can't even start if i'm exhausted.

and i *so* wanted to slash Rat-Frog Manager and Bald Manager, too! not to mention Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Bad. but i still don't have the play for reference material, so i'm stymied there too even if i did have the time.
