cue panic attack as cim realizes for the first time that student loans mean paying a lot of money once a month and if you don't you get in trouble.

why did no one make sure i grasped the scariness before i signed up for college? it's not like, 'then you're out of college, and it doesn't start until you have a job, and don't read the fine print, because that doesn't ever happen,' which is what i thought. it's six months after whenever you un-enroll for any reason.

also, does anyone know where i would get a copy of my w2s or why the school doesn't have them already? i didn't think so, as it was my dad who took care of them.

i am almost as scared of getting a job as of having loans to pay, though, so in that, more pathetic than a lot of other people apparently.

well, obviously i have read other stories as i only rec good ones. but if you've found the library of moria you're just as qualified to find other stories as i am. i just went through archives. i suppose one could try fanfiction.net and its like too, but i'm not that brave. the yahoo group axe_bow has a website with an archive and links too, but i don't recall anything there i hadn't seen before.

Thanks for your help. I don't know why I have this desperate THING about the pairing, but I do. angstslashhope said "Oh good, you're finally reading interspecies", which was totally unfair as I WROTE Gimli/Aragorn ages ago (it's really bad, don't read it *g*).

Ah, you're making me nostalgic. Don't worry, soon instead of being frightened of your student loans, you'll just feel heavy as if you're carrying the dead-weight of a huge albatross around your neck for years. Welcome to the club of the overly-educated debtors! Have a drink and a cigar (although you can't afford them).

My one bit of advice: get your loans consolidated into one low interest loan (try for 5% or less) with at least a 10 year payback. Then pay more than your monthly payment whenever you can afford to do so.

ah, you have come into the game late. i haven't graduated, but taken a semester off which has now become a year since my dad's accident. i still plan to study--although abroad and never again at amherst, which i hate with the fiery heat of a lot of suns etc--next spring.

the monthly payment is actually not a lot since my parents have the vast majority of the debt. it's just that i've been moping around and being neurotic instead of getting a job.

Yes, I just got LJ a couple of weeks ago. I'm sorry for being a dumbass - I'll have to do some catch up, I guess. Finding a job in this economy has to suck though - so you have reason to be mopey!

:) that's okay. misery does indeed love company. i don't want a career or anything in the economy. i only want a part-time job. but the problem is that i really don't want to have to go out and ask people for it. (::shudder::)
