my favorite aunt and my favorite cousin are supposed to be arriving--in fact, 'around lunchtime' was my understanding and here it is 3 pm--today. see, they're actually usually pretty early, which is why i got out of bed at nine and started feeding animals, doing dishes, picking up trash off the floor, etc. even though i'd gone to bed at two! but they're not anywhere around yet. do you see them? i don't.

and see, i'd really really like to take a nap. because i NEED my sleep, precious, yes. but that'd be rude, wouldn't it. i know, i know.

two more things.

1. what do people know about paxil?

2. ahahaha the package i'm making for [livejournal.com profile] wax_jism weighs a bunch why? because it is FULL of old issues of rolling stone she might like, and torn out pictures of kiefer sutherland and sarah michelle gellar's face. i am so lame. lame, lame, lame. but at least my girlfriend is hot. ::giggle::

i was on paxil for at least 18 months. worked great except eventually i lost my entire sex drive, and even when i did have sex, i couldn't cum.

so, i told my doc and he said it was the meds. he took me off the paxil, and now i'm back to normal. the hubby is VERY glad i got off it.

fun times, right. prozac does the same thing but the doctors don't fucking tell you.

mental note to ask about side-effects. >.

All about Paxil

I've been on Paxil for almost a year, with pretty good results. It didn't turn off my depression, but it regulated it to a level where I was more-or-less capable of dealing with it. The badside, of course, is that it comes with a shitload of side effects. I was always drowsy until I got used to it, was a little bit dizzy and clumsy for the first few weeks, and I still haven't gotten most of my sex drive back. I also started remembering my dreams for the first time in years -- I've heard some people actually get really vivid dreams from it. Also, it's one of those drugs you can't forget to take . . . if you go 24 hours without it, you'll get flue-like symptoms. In general, though, I think it's worth it. A couple of weeks after I started taking it, I was walking around campus and I suddenly thought, "Huh. I'm happy." That made it all worthwhile.

really! well, i hear it's like prozac, which does do the dream-remembering thingy anyway. but i'm tired of doctors not telling you in advance about the sexual side-effects. REALLY tired, in fact. how hard is it? what, they don't like to say 'sex'? the doc who prescribed it said it was a lot like prozac, which was having an effect, but not actually WORKING working, so my hopes are not too high. but your words are encouraging.
