in other news, last night mom and dad got, respectively, the pride and prejudice with colin firth and the original bedazzled with peter cook and dudley moore. tonight daddy got a sherlock holmes dvd that includes 'a scandal in bohemia,' which is essential background forplaidder's excellent stories absurdly simple and an ideal husband; and 'the solitary cyclist,' one of my personal favorites. it has some emotional moments for watson.
