have you seen animal factory? edward is a hapless kid (well, teenager. young adult?) whom willem takes under his wing. willem wants his ass, but he saves him a buncha times without trying to take advantage. they have this kind of real Soul Love, where edward moves into willem's cell and just automatically expects willem to take care of him and they become easy and the bed is huge but they're sitting snugged shoulder to shoulder, knee to knee, hip to hip. they're both all smiley. willem watches edward sleep and helps him kill a guy who wanted to rape him--well actually, he intends to take him on alone, but willem leads their gang over there, and the guy almost gets the knife from edward. willem grabs him from behind and the guy, who is huge, slams him into the wall and edward leaps on him with the knife and stabs him to save willem--he didn't quite have the stomach for it before, and he still doesn't because he can't cut his throat even to keep him from it. then willem is like, you want to get out of here? and edward trusts him to take care of it. they're going to escape together. and ed's daddy is rich and can arrange for them to be safe in hiding on a parrot farm in costa rica. THEY'RE GOING TO RAISE PARROTS TOGETHER. I'M SORRY BUT THAT IS VERY GAY. you know, maybe edward is physically essentially straight, but it's clear that they have a looooove, and my bet is that after a few years of togetherness in the face of adversity the tenderness overcomes the armor or whatever.

so they arrange the getaway--but it goes wrong, and in the end, edward escapes without willem!
