you know, i have a real fondness for gimmicky cuddly stories.

trapped-in-elevator/closet accidental cuddling. forced to share body heat. garden variety, sudden-flu h/c. shuttle crash. accidentally waking up entangled.

that doesn't stop me from occasionally deducting points for use of tired cliches, but i greatly enjoy them, especially that moment when you can slowly grin and go 'hey, this is a forced-to-share-body-heat fic!'

I like those too.

For my radio drama in drama class, my group's play was about how many people were trapped in an elevator, including:

- a french girl
- a really old man
- a psychopath
- a fat guy with a gas problem
- a claustrophobic
- a gay man
- a ditz
- a paki man with curry
- an overly helpful kindergarten teacher
- a really really really nerdy guy

Not in the least romantic. (It was a really big elevator.)

But yeah, I really enjoy those trapped-elevator/closet fics too, and so on and so forth.

oh yeah dude! shared body heat is probably my fave fic thing ever. in fact my nice friend [livejournal.com profile] olinima who is the queen of slash did a search for that phrase through all her slash and has given me a library of fics to read with those words in!

and my TOP favourite is shared body heat whilst camping.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOH!

Hee... I love accidental cuddling and being trapped / sharing body heat stories. Sometimes the cliches are what works best. And sometimes they aren't, but you can't help loving them anyway. ;D

i have a strong memory of a pros fic wherein they're on the run in strange countryside at night and take shelter in a rundown abandoned house while one of them's sick to death with flu and end up cuddling on a mouldy mattress they find on the floor.

i don't even remember if i liked the fic, i just really was... caught by the situation.

me too, totally. mmh. how many flu fics have i loved over time? there's no counting but this one pros fic stands out in my mind. i can't remember the name or the rest of the plot, but i remember they're wandering lost in the countryside at night, and it's raining and cold and one has a flu, and they take shelter and cuddle and share body heat in an abandoned house, on a moldy mattress they find on the floor. AWWW.
