cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (jeeves/wooster)

enrique (one half of frankrike) was saying, in an e-mail, how a gay french film was a commentary on three things, one of which was "performativity."  so i looked it up.

ahahahahahahah, academicspeak, how you make it nearly impossible to parody you.

this one actually uses the phrase 'the interpellating call.'  this one is all about matter and how it's "not an absolute certainty", but can become intelligible!  (i think that one is my favorite.  'encourage students to open signifiers to new meanings.'  bwahahahaha.)

this is actually a quite interesting selection of quotes from a lecture on performativity on queer theory.  (“There is no gender identity behind the expressions of gender; that identity is performatively constituted by the very ‘expressions’ that are said to be its results.”)

this is a concisish summary in english of what the others are talking about.
