i was talking to
perhael about the first time i met
wax_jism in person. that was at
devon's house in ann arbor, for two days on my way back to amherst for my sophomore year of college. the visit was, well. i still can't think of a word. as i was telling lilah, it was incredibly surreal to meet someone i already knew so intimately, yet had never seen in person. and it all happened so fast. and it all seemed so improbable, incredible to begin with.
but i mean, look at where we are now. discussing what to do with the kitchen table, in light of where we'll be in a few years, when our flat isn't so small. wondering if one can find a used sewing machine in finland, so i'll be able to sew. unable to stop ourselves buying a new set of duvet covers everytime we find some we really like. (fortunately, the total is only up to three that we've bought ourselves, but let's just say with the second set we had more than we needed and we've been given more since then.)
and then i think back to how improbable everything is! fandom is a wacky thing itself, and i only stumbled into it and met wax at all after some strange set of circumstances having mostly to do with
kitten_head's ordinary teenage-girl-love for nsync and justin timberlake. i was a totally different person before i met wax, let alone before slash fandom, and it took me a year in slashdom before i started to wonder--and i clearly remember the first instant of articulated wondering; i was reading some britney/pink slash by
silviakundera--if i was bisexual.
uh, the end.

Date: 24 Feb 2005 03:55 pm (UTC)other pairs of partners who met through fandom always make me vaguely happy. that's probably totally illogical. but it seems like an extra-wonderful thing.
