i was talking to [livejournal.com profile] perhael about the first time i met [livejournal.com profile] wax_jism in person. that was at [livejournal.com profile] devon's house in ann arbor, for two days on my way back to amherst for my sophomore year of college. the visit was, well. i still can't think of a word. as i was telling lilah, it was incredibly surreal to meet someone i already knew so intimately, yet had never seen in person. and it all happened so fast. and it all seemed so improbable, incredible to begin with.

but i mean, look at where we are now. discussing what to do with the kitchen table, in light of where we'll be in a few years, when our flat isn't so small. wondering if one can find a used sewing machine in finland, so i'll be able to sew. unable to stop ourselves buying a new set of duvet covers everytime we find some we really like. (fortunately, the total is only up to three that we've bought ourselves, but let's just say with the second set we had more than we needed and we've been given more since then.)

and then i think back to how improbable everything is! fandom is a wacky thing itself, and i only stumbled into it and met wax at all after some strange set of circumstances having mostly to do with [livejournal.com profile] kitten_head's ordinary teenage-girl-love for nsync and justin timberlake. i was a totally different person before i met wax, let alone before slash fandom, and it took me a year in slashdom before i started to wonder--and i clearly remember the first instant of articulated wondering; i was reading some britney/pink slash by [livejournal.com profile] silviakundera--if i was bisexual.

uh, the end.

and then i think back to how improbable everything is! This kicks my ass on a regular basis. I love it.

This post is a lovely thing :)

there must be a word for that feeling. i mean, there's a word for "solipsism", which is a similar kind of thing.

You know, while I'm sitting here thinking about which part of town [livejournal.com profile] darkrosetiger and I should move to, I totally get what you're saying here. *is so happy for you and wax*

yeah--your journey has definitely been weirder.

other pairs of partners who met through fandom always make me vaguely happy. that's probably totally illogical. but it seems like an extra-wonderful thing.
