sometimes it's easy to write good sex and sometimes it's hard. the first night's sex in my story is graphic and porny and hot, and the later stuff--skims over important bits with metaphors and talking about feelings because it's afraid to bore itself or the reader with repetitiveness or get too embarrassingly self-absorbed.

but why? where did the good, unashamedly porny sex go? i can't let this story out into the public domain until it's at least evened up a bit.

edit. well, um, there it was. heh.

i used to try to make it more lyrical or whatever, but i realised gradually that people like to read what i call "porn"--graphic smut that's paced sort of like sex and, well, seeks to arouse. but i also get bored with sex scenes that don't seem to have anything to do with the plot and i often skim them, so i got nervous. you know, "i've already written seven pages of sex. how many times can one thrust into/lick the other?" and... i was... trying to... be different or something. avoid boredom! but i don't think it's boring now. so actually, who knows? maybe i wasn't in the mood for getting jiggy when i wrote them the first time. XD
