so last summer i lived in texas with my aunt, and i had to change my address on record with some giant evol corporations, like banks, and student loan providers, and spam mail providers.  and what with the GIANT crunch of stress involved in getting into the university here, and getting a residence permit, and trying to decipher lots of bureaucratese, i forgot to change a lot of them back and mail has been accumulating in texas.

i neglected for some time after she first asked to tell jenny to forward it to my parents, but she did, and daddy opened it. and it included nine months of bills for a loan, and almost five hundred dollars back from my last income taxes.  the loan's like four hundred overdue, and the total payoff for the whole thing is less than six hundred.  if i just had a little money!

which brings me back to, i really need a job.  and it's not illegal for me to work, and obviously there are people in finland who don't speak finnish working (although not very many of them)--so it just makes me feel stupid, which come to think of it, the job market in general, even when it speaks english, has always done.  but i have no idea where to start!

I've always worried about this moving overseas! My husband could get a job where he didn't need to speak the local languge - the mountain comes to him, he's that talented - but my training and skills don't transfer without linguistic acuity! There's always janitorial work, I guess - if you need money, you need money, and I did it for years, no shame in it.

yeah, i know that's there. shamefully i even have stress about *that* because i have no experience of it, in a way i wouldn't about anything that involved my native language, or computers or--you know, something i'm confident about. intellectually i know that's stupid--the salient feature of it is that you hardly need any braincells for the task. and while my initial reaction is kind of eww! (my mom did it for years before i was born--guess she made a mistake by raising me too upper-middle-class) i would probably enjoy it after a while, given my OCD tendencies.
