ok, apparently i'm a moron, or culturally illiterate:

WHERE did cj's bodyguard work? and... what is that?

Wait, wait, what do you mean? When he was telling Hogan about how he wound up Secret Service? I think he said military scholarship, a few years of service in exchange, then he was a Chicago cop. Then Secret Service.

Unless you mean something else that I may have missed. I was not paying a huge amount of attention at some points.

no, she asked when he would have had an opportunity to brandish his weapon and then said, "unless you were at *mumble*[what sounded like 'roslyn']*mumble*." then when cj came out, she was going to tell her and he said he would tell her later, and then in her office he did and she said, "oh, thank you," and walked away and smiled stiffly and he said, "i'm sorry," and she said, "no, i said thank you," and left, and that's when he checked her email.

CJ's neice said "You were at Rosslyn," which is where the president was shot at the end of the first season.

oh! thanks.

ok. um. but why would cj be *upset* by this? ...unless it's that a bullet got by him before... o_O

GAH! I was on the phone during that scene & didn't catch everything. Feh. I'll have to check out the TWOP boards later.

It's been *so* long since I've watched TWW. Figures I'd pick *now* to try to catch up.

Um, hi, btw :)

Because Josh almost died. They were all upset. It was stressful (and there are slew of fics about this. i suggest you don't' read them).

And talking about that in a department store would probably be a bad thing. Especially when he's supposed to be protecting her.

yes, he wouldn't want to talk about it in a department store.

which they didn't.

but why was he so worried about her reaction? i can see that it's sort of a sensitive subject, so maybe i can interpret "i'm sorry" not as "i'm sorry that i was there" or "i'm sorry for what i did/didn't do there" but as "i'm sorry for reminding you of that." i mean, he was there, and so were a lot of agents and so was cj. and it sucked for him too. and unless he was, like, the agent standing between josh and the shot, i don't see how it could have been his fault.

I don't know. You make a good point. But I suppose that maybe the agents feel that they failed, in a way, because bartlet and josh were shot.

AS is a weird man, what can I say?

I think this is a big deal because it means Bartlet assigned the agent that possibly saved his life to protect CJ's.

All together now: AWWWWWWW.

ohh, that's good, except did he personally choose the agent? do we know that he did?
