hmm.  so, other people have been experiencing fandom being dead for the past couple of days, but i've been writing again1 and listening to music, which is what one2 does when one writes.  since that's all that's going on, i thought i'd update about it, kind of.

much of my recent music listening has been due to [livejournal.com profile] aeslis, who's a great music pimp and has recently introduced me to two things i really like:  emilie autumn and sweetbox--the former is a classically trained violinist/singer who produces sort of celtic/medieval/pop fused together, and her whole album is downloadable for free at her website;  the latter seems to be classed with j-pop, but doesn't really sound like it to me--it's kind of pop-rock with some classical influence and very strong vocals.  here are the songs that pimped me3: emilie autumn - save you :: sweetbox - chyna girl :: sweetbox - don't push me.

as for writing, i still don't really know why i let myself and wax talk me into writing an action plot, but it has gotten a little easier, and now it's over 9000 words.  my current favourite bit is "Stop moving me and I'll try not to puke on you!"  John snapped.

1.  !!!
2.  me, anyway
3.  actually aes first sent me "how strange" by emilie autumn, but "save you" was the one i was most impressed with.  i really like the intro.

well, i've mostly been on trillian but away whenever i'm actually at the computer. i've kind of missed you too lately--i think we're actually online at the same time less often. i've been hanging in #primenotprime to, like, halfway distract myself when i need to take a breath.

I like the Emilie Autumn songs very much! Like Loreena McKennitt's little sister who listens to electronica.

I keep meaning to ask you--you're the one who posted the Ladies of Jazz songs a couple of months ago, right? I grabbed a bunch and I'm doing More and More and Then Some as a strip this month at the burlesque. So, thank you!

huhh... but i thought you already had that song when i posted them, because you commented about the time that you were doing a strip to it i thought. or maybe you just said it would make a good one or you were going to do one--oh well. :) it's great, isn't it?
