this is remarkably close to reality. the hair's a little dark, and my sneakers really look like red-and-white tweed bowling shoes. but wax will tell you that i frequently look a lot like this when lounging around the flat. she makes fun of my fluffy pink skirt, which is not, by the way, really a tutu.

this is sue-me. my hair is a much darker brown, almost black, with highlights of chestnut only when the light falls just right on my untameable riot of lustrous ringlets. my eyes are the colour of sea glass, but they turn golden when i'm very happy or, um, casting a spell, probably. yes. they're probably described as "cat-like", even though the shape is wrong. notice my spangled gauzy scarf skirt and ass-kicking sparkly motorcycle boots. even my ass-kicking boots have to be sparkly, because i'm a princess. (i should really technically be wearing my tiara here, but ~~i didn't want to go to that much trouble with photoshop~~ sometimes--if, for instance, i'm preparing to do handstands or literal ass-kicking--i take it off and put it in my purse. and oops, i've completely neglected to mention my special power. aside from how regal i am all the time, i can invent new spells, which is almost like doing wandless magic because i never have to memorise the right names for things as long as i know what i want to do. it's all very instinctual and i've been doing it since long before i could crawl. in fact, as a toddler i was quite a handful, always changing dad's beer into water because it smelled better, and transfiguring mom's clothes into something more fashionable as she was leaving the house.

speaking of fashion, finland is the land that it forgot. today on the bus i saw a woman in bright lavender snake-print pants, which she wore with thick white tube socks and those large, clunky velcro sandals with hiking boot soles. on the top she had a white t-shirt, a blue denim jacket, and a red-and-navy baseball cap.
