yesterday was a busy day. we went to the grocery store across the river, about a fifteen minute drive, at like 7 am because wax woke up early from jetlag. due to a traffic jam, by the time we made it back here we were almost fainting from hunger. so i exercised my excellent cooking skills and made wax some american pancakes. plus, we walked the dog, went to my house to feed the cat, and went on a quest in search of the billy boyd construction and realty yard sign. we found it, and parked, and walked into somebody's yard to take a picture. wax kept laughing at me. 'my girlfriend and her infinite dorkiness,' said wax, lighting a cigarette. oh, and we watched a couple of movies including swimming pool. plus finally blockbuster has all the volumes of queer as folk season two, so we're renting those.

I'm barging in to be totally off topic. I hope that you will not mind too much. (LJ always just seems easier than email for me, for some strange reason.)

About a month ago I was recced a really nice, really well-written, Sean/Elijah lotrips that featured Sean having a long-term crush on Lij as played out over a series of years when Lij would visit him for Thanksgiving, and ended with lots of mad sex in a rainstorm, and I am 99% sure that it was written by an author called Cimorene. I had read some Frodo/Sam like, gah, well over a year ago, by an author writing under the same name; and for some reason I had always thought it was written by my friend Adrienne, but as she recently told me that she wasn't the author of the Seanlij I read I am having doubts. (I still have no idea if there were, like, two of you, or if there was only one Cimorene and I just sort of mistakenly thought it was Adrienne. And now I am too embarrassed to ask her).

I see you around on fandom wank all the time but it never clicked that you were a) the LotR author I know as Cimorene or b) the possible author of the Seanlijah I read last month. And I have just spent something like 45 minutes trying to find the rec where I was recced it but of course I can't find it anywhere, and I cannot remember the name of the fic but I am so sure it was you who wrote it, and I had the fic printed out and in a pile of crumpled pages beside my bed for like a month, but then I threw it away last week in a mad cleaning spree so of COURSE I can't look it up and see what the title/author of it was/is. Also I read your fic "Tennessee" ages and ages ago and I loved it, even though it has been a while and I am fuzzy on the details. Anyway, I was skimming over [livejournal.com profile] theblacklist and I saw you'd written Gill/Nemo and ever since I read [livejournal.com profile] amanuensis1's Gill/Nemo I have been totally hot for the fish-chan, so I was firstly all, "whee!" and then "oh... wait... Cimorene..." and suddenly the thirty thousand different ways I know you from sort of came together and clicked and I went "oh!" ----and NOW I see that, oh, god, you're the person who wrote Sleeping With the Enemy which is one of my all-time favorite classic H/D humor fics. Where have you been all my life?

I am not usually this confused, honestly. I just wanted to explain why I have just friended you, and sort of introduce myself. :) I used to be [livejournal.com profile] vanityfair but now I'm somebody a little bit split in two who has friended you on [livejournal.com profile] wayfairer and just did something she swore she would never ever ever do in a million years, which is write lotrips. So. Yeah. Anyway. I just wanted to say I think you're a wonderful writer, even if you didn't actually write the fic I think you wrote, which seems to have completely vanished off the face of the earth, naturally. :-L And now I am off to actually *read* "What it Feels Like" because I have gotten distracted.

Hi.

ah, you're talking about burn (http://www.rightthisway.net/cimorene/tolkien/ashes.html) and waiting for courage (http://www.rightthisway.net/cimorene/tolkien/waiting.html). and, ahahaha, sleeping with the enemy (http://www.rightthisway.net/cimorene/hp/sleeping.html) which you must be the only fan, if not the only reader of. well, um, i've been here. and i know you by reputation (but do you not go by aja anymore or something?) and ravie likes you, so i'm predisposed to like you as well. oh, and [livejournal.com profile] wax_jism wants another chapter of 'underwater light,' which she thinks is yours.

I am far from being the only fan/reader of Sleeping with the Enemy. I was recced that fic ages and ages ago on some fandom friend's journal, I wish I could remember whose. I seem to remember it having a lot of reader response, and for good reason. <3

THANK YOU. Yes. Burn. :D Guh. I love it. That was driving me crazy, and now I wonder how I missed it on your website when I was hunting for it.

I think Rave is wonderful. Also, I think Wax's "Second of Our Reign" is one of the most unforgettable H/D fics around (although I have never quite made up my mind how I feel about it, as my emotional reaction to it changes every time I read it). I am sorry to have to disappoint her by telling her I am only a lowly beta of "Underwater Light"--the author is [livejournal.com profile] mistful, who will squeal and blush prettily at the request for more, when I tell her. :)

my real name is Aja and everybody uses it. It is just that I have a cross-posting journal as well now, [livejournal.com profile] ontheside, so it can all be very confusing.

it is lovely to be liked! :D
