dear lj, stfu about my password, okay? it's getting old.

i seem to have been tagged to list ten things that make me happy.  that can't be too hard, right?

1. clementines.
2. chocolate truffles.
3. chocolate covered raisins.
4. cream cheese and green olives on toasted breadlike substance.
5. when the kitty falls asleep and loses her grip on the monitor, and wholly or partially falls off it.
6. when you've been thinking "huh man, i'm bored" and just then somebody cool comes online to entertain you.
7. going to the movies.
8. getting care packages from my parents, except for those times they get stuck in customs.
9. thinking about imaginary slash stories in my head, or babbling about them out loud, with no obligation to write them down.
10. the one time in twenty-five or so that i come out of a face-to-face interaction with someone other than a friend thinking "that was kind of nice" instead of "i need to stay at home and not see or interact with anyone, and man, do i hate people".

i've been trying to read this book about globalisation today but i haven't gotten very far.  it isn't badly written or especially boring subject matter, but i just don't want to read it.  if worse comes to worst, i don't have to take any exams until january, because they're pretty self-schedule-yay! here at this university, but still, that will just make me more busy in january, you know?  and i was one of the ones pushing to schedule this exam before christmas.

Ugh, the password bitching! I wrote in complaining about that, and I got a response saying, blah blah, your lj is at risk despite the fact that no one will ever guess wtf your password is, you must change it, in the future we may block journals whose passwords are suspect.

So, I changed it, and now it's the same as all my other journals, which I would say makes it EASIER to guess, but whatever LJ, be dumb like that.

okay, they can fuck off! having a letter or symbol in the password doesn't inherently make it harder to guess than any combination of letters. just having something that is a word or proper name in some language doesn't automatically make it easy to guess because there are too many proper names and words in the world for anybody to try guessing them all (and if they're using an actual hacking PROGRAM you're probably in trouble anyway, but i don't think lara croft is coming after me).

I so agree. I am in so much agreement, in fact, that ... that ... .... ............ That I just agree, dammit >/

And who would put that much effort into hacking an LJ account anyway? I LIKED my password. It was ten characters long, and it flowed off my fingers, and I used it since the beginning of time and no one in their right mind would ever guess it, because though it does reference something I'm fond of, it's not something intuitive.

They really didn't have to mangle my happiness like that. T__T

yes, i can't think of anybody who would be likely to guess mine. auurgh and when you add letters in, it makes it hard because it's all DIFFERENT.
