cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (international woman of mystery)

i'm excited to spend christmas with my better half's family in ekenäs (where the water is much higher quality, and it could be very good for my hair), not least because i've never tried to make english trifle from my british great-grandmother's acclaimed recipe before and it looks fun.  but like, i'll miss the day-after-christmas shopping spree in our little suburban mall with my own charmingly scatter-brained mother.  it's often the most fun part of christmas (second only to buying my parents' presents for each other, but that happens in like, september, and i don't get to do it now that i've moved away).  a couple of years ago i got half a season's wardrobe for $27 (of my mom's, i didn't have any money myself of course).  several of my favourite wardrobe pieces were obtained at this traditional event.  plus i miss my whole family; it's just that christmas is mostly a mom-time.

today's my birthday which means my little sister [livejournal.com profile] cuddlepint will be fourteen in eleven days, so it's also time to mail something to her.  can't really skip that regardless of the cost.

my new plan is to make my subject line a palindrome from weird al's song "bob" whenever i don't have another one in mind.

They are teh awesome and smexy.

Well Japanese-ers do it too, with retarded English on their shirts, so we're allowed to do the reverse, imo.
