I'm laughing on the floor, here. Is Lily some strange breed? Or just very, very strange?

the top two are lily and the bottom one is tea - and they are a strange breed, they're cornish rexes, but they don't usually make faces that silly. i caught lily in mid-yawn, and i'm petting tea so her ears are kinda pulled back. XD

cornish rexes are universally pretty funny though--they have the slim build of siameses, usually with very small pointy heads, and their special feature is that wavy coat, which is actually the fur that makes the undercoat on other cats. they don't have a main proper coat, so they can look a bit naked.

Ah, I thought they might be Rexes, because the coat is rather distinctively peculiar. Is it Tea who you showed a pic of, cuddled up in blankies in a box where your TV used to be?

My cat (see icon) is rather mundane by comparison. Not terrifically bright, but not particularly crazy by cat standards.

yeah, that's tea who adores the kitty bed beyond all reason. she's sitting in the same place in the third picture there. :) these cats are the most hilarious of any i've ever lived with, but fortunately they just have to be cute and cuddly to fulfill their functions as cats. less bizarre ones are just as fun to live with!

Your cat looks like Rodney McKay? Isn't that confusing? ;)

although if you think about it, wouldn't it also be kind of awesome?

Hee! That picture of Lily! I'm trying to laugh and hiccup quietly here so as not to wake the boything ;)

why is that picture so mysteriously hilarious? i don't know, but wax has laughed until she cried three separate times now. also, now my lame imitation of it is enough to make her instantly crack up.

That is seriously the funniest pet expression I've ever seen. And now you need to take a picture of your imitation of it, too. XD

bwahahahhaha. actually when someone else is taking a photo of me i kind of freeze up and look completely insane, and wax is terrible at taking pictures, so it probably wouldn't even be possible to get one. XD

Heeee... you could try taking the photo in front of a mirror. That way you could also see if you're making the right expression. And invent some new ones while you're at it. ;D

Also, I die at the cat-expressions.

i thought such awesomeness could only be swedish but wax says it actually came from germany! also, she had to go to like three department stores to find it. she thinks teapots are going out of style or something.

sadly the shoes will hurt my feet too--not the straps, probably, but just walking in heels. i am such a wimp. :)

The shoes are gorgeous, the skirt is really cute, and both fit well. It looks like you had a very productive shopping expedition recently. So lucky! I wish I had your luck when it came to clothes shopping. I've been needing new clothes and shoes for the longest time but can't seem to find anything quite right.

yes! i'm lucky because, while i'm a size and shape which can be hard to shop for (affordably) in department stores and the like, there's always some kind of trendy chain that caters to me: in america it was express where i could buy stuff without trying it on and here it's h&m. the downside is that they're almost the only place in town i can get anything to fit me, trying on or not. but i don't buy clothes that often, so i could actually probably buy all my clothes there the next ten years. the skirt and shoes both came from there yesterday--as well as three shirts and some other stuff that i had to force myself to put back on the rack. :X

h&m is a lifesaver, basically. it's like the ikea of clothes. thank god for sweden!

Awesome teapot! Great shoes, and I have a friend who's in love with Devon Rexes. I was thinking that your cat must be one, or a similar breed. The fact I can recognize it from a picture leads me to believe she's spending too much time showing me cat pictures on line. *g*

heeee, indeed you have been looking at too many pictures online. these two are cornish rexes, which are different i *think* only in that their coats are curly. :)

i don't suppose you're near an h&m? or that they let you mail-order in america? these were quite inexpensive too.

Adorable cat and adorable shoes (and I like the teapot, too).

Do cornish rexes shed less?

(no subject)

Date: 12 May 2006 02:09 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cimness.livejournal.com
they do because they don't have much fur to shed, but they still shed a fair amount in shedding season. however, the hair that they shed is shorter, more like very fine down, and a lot of people who are allergic to cats are safe with them. that was why wax originally picked the breed.

Faaabulous shoes, and I'm glad you took a picture. Bronze is my new favourite colour at the moment.

And the skirt is beyond cute and fits you perfectly. It's so kicky!

it is kicky! it's a fairly thick canvas which means it's stiffer and seems to hold its pleats better. it also isn't actually hot--it means it sort of stands out from the body and a lot of breezes go up under it.

and yeah - i'm really impressed with the bronze. it matches the fancy dress extremely well.

now to find something to do with my hair to match the vaguely flapper theme of the outfit. you know, short of cutting it all off...
