baby don't look up, the sky is falling

went dancing. all was good. i now am officially awesome--was asked to dance by one of the obsessively good dancers who does nifty stuff and we played with the rules and chased each other in circles twice where i was supposed to promenade him once. was v. cool. wax, i almost danced a swedish one! but it wasn't the s-one, it started with h, and the guy i was talking to said it was too hard and he couldn't show me without risking our mutual deaths (???).

also danced with another master who showed me three new ways to swing including one that involves about four twirls. v. complicated and exhilarating, twice as fast. thought i was going to fall over and didn't. saw cute gay boys practically make out on the dance floor. got hit on by old guy. : \ it was pretty good, overall. stayed there for four hours until i was utterly exhausted--hey, contra is v. athletic, all you modern nastydancing! wimps.

i am going to use up all my beta-ability at once at this rate, too, what with naina and holls and a v. exciting emergency request from wax. and am promised more from my darling k'sal, though don't depend too heavily on her promptitude.

also: does anyone need a large box of cobras? they're making me nervous. holls, you should THINK before you purchase boxes of poisonous reptiles!

as boromir was an annoying twit, in time it became necessary that gandalf deal with him by turning him into a squirrel. desfortunadamente, as gandalf was rather distracted at the time by the balrog nibbling on his ear, the spell started to wear off after a few days.

maybe i should have eaten (a) more than a bowl of cereal and a turkey sandwich for lunch yesterday. (b) dinner. (c) both. ow ow ow. i can feel my pulse in my stomach, and this is not a pleasant feeling. going to breakfast--armed with delany to read. we shall see, we shall see.

the story's been eyeing me suspiciously for a whole day now. am afraid of the end of this scene, rather. must transition to diff. tone and the meat of it. damn framing. and gimmicks as well. i wish my beta were without life and perpetually at my beck and call. i need to be soothed.
