master and commander recs

let me just recommend, in the strongest terms, to anyone who has seen master and commander, the following aubrey/maturin stories by shalott (astolat) and keiko. they essentially make the entire fandom, which is small, and there are no other ambitious, long, meaty stories. both writers are excellent and thoroughly satisfying.
