if you have to say "feedback is welcome but please be gentle"--especially in accompaniment with "this is my first fic"--don't post it.

eta:

for about five years has been giantly oversized flannel pajama pants of my own manufacture. homemade pants-related reminiscence. )

well, the current pair were as comfortable as ever, but by mistake i'd made them extra giant, with the crotch way too low, and i've already had to mend them four times.

so my mission today in town was to buy a pair of comfortable sweatpants or pajama pants with drawstrings. you wouldn't think that was that hard, would you? you'd be wrong.

it had just started to snow and was unpleasantly blizzardy, so i had determined to go to the mall, and not go outside it until i found what i was looking for.

after almost two hours and an exhausting number of false starts i'd almost given up hope. in america there are a zillion places you can go for sweats. i'd start with target, personally, but it's not by any means HARD to find unadorned sweatpants or hooded sweatshirts (my other objective). HAH.

in the end i was in the trendy teeny bopper's section of my favorite department store*, pretentiously called ONE WAY. it's decorated like a skater bar or an avril lavigne video, take your pick, and features a stunning array of clothes ranging from slightly overpriced jeans, sweatshirts and tshirts to €200 jeans, €80 sweatshirts and €70 tshirts.

amazingly, this place turned out to be the best of the mall's lot and i found a pair of straight-legged, low-waisted black drawstring sweatpants with no elastic** for only €24. the worst indication of their shameful origin is a kinda cute gothic-looking screenprint on the right buttcheek that says "get dressed".

i was almost happy enough to dive back into h&m in pursuit of a hooded sweatshirt--i'd come up empty handed in the plain department, but was willing to get one of those fake-vintage screenprints instead. however, my sore feet won out and i left with only a brief, wistful pause to contemplate purchasing a new pair of sneakers. i'll have to go back tomorrow.

**i can't wear elastic around my waist. it gives me horrible cramping stabbing pains.

also, i've watched 12 minutes of rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead and taken over 230 caps. i'm gonna have to post them a scene a day or something. geeeeeez.

mmmh--comfortfilm.
