meantime fic! "nothing to say," nc-17, 73K

i know hardly anybody has seen this movie, because uh, it was a british tv film from 1984. but it stars baby tim roth and baby gary oldman (this is the movie they're filming in my last posted fic, high rent)! it features tiny sparks of sweet sweet heart-warming human connection, on a backdrop of urban wasteland, depression and poverty, constantly punctuated by the Tinkly Harpsichord of Squalor (tm).

you totally don't need to see it to understand the fic, either. it takes up almost right where the film leaves off. and, uh, to borrow an incentive from dale, kittens will probably die if you don't read it.

summary: mark and colin leave home and set up with coxy in a condemned flat. Colin isn't cynical, but he is matter-of-fact. There is plenty of the real world that is outside the field of Colin's view, and Colin doesn't know what he can't reach. But Mark would never have thought his brother wasted time on pipe dreams either.
notes: beta by wild_boys. also, although the relationship portrayed is definitely mutually consensual and between adults, the character colin is either mildly retarded, quite slow or in some other way learning disabled. and... it came out surprisingly fluffy. but the film comes out surprisingly fluffy too, so i feel completely justified.

perhael said i should post these mac/danny wallpapers (csi:ny, for those who haven't actually read my journal in weeks).  i have the webspace* and there's always room in the internet for more of the pretty, so here it is.  they're made for 1280x1024 but i made a 1024x768 version of each too.
