so last summer i lived in texas with my aunt, and i had to change my address on record with some giant evol corporations, like banks, and student loan providers, and spam mail providers.  and what with the GIANT crunch of stress involved in getting into the university here, and getting a residence permit, and trying to decipher lots of bureaucratese, i forgot to change a lot of them back and mail has been accumulating in texas.

i neglected for some time after she first asked to tell jenny to forward it to my parents, but she did, and daddy opened it. and it included nine months of bills for a loan, and almost five hundred dollars back from my last income taxes.  the loan's like four hundred overdue, and the total payoff for the whole thing is less than six hundred.  if i just had a little money!

which brings me back to, i really need a job.  and it's not illegal for me to work, and obviously there are people in finland who don't speak finnish working (although not very many of them)--so it just makes me feel stupid, which come to think of it, the job market in general, even when it speaks english, has always done.  but i have no idea where to start!

i've been obsessing over the new scifi mag atlantis ad (posted by [livejournal.com profile] ship_recs) for a couple of days, ever since i saw it.

i keep randomly inserting it at wholly inappropriate places in the conversation:

"it's too cold in the shade, and too hot in the sun."

"i hope we get to see a lot of mckay in that civilian outfit in season two of stargate: atlantis."

i keep clicking back and looking at it some more.

more specifically, i keep clicking back and looking at david hewlett's thigh some more.

[livejournal.com profile] wax_jism and i doubt that hewlett is aware he's become a sex object to a sizeable contingent of the show's fanbase, who talk excitedly about his nipples, and "big" hands, and "massive" thighs, and would much prefer mckay to sheppard for five minutes locked in a closet. "he's the kind of guy people love to hate," he said happily in an interview. heh. to hate, right.

"because," i said to wax and [livejournal.com profile] shiroi_chi, "most women can't help a certain attraction to broad shoulders and powerful thighs, even on pudgy men--,"

"but he's not that pudgy," wax interrupted, "it's just a little, just his waist--"

"yeah, he isn't, it's really just--, but it's like hormones, you can't help it because your ovaries go 'hey! look! powerful shoulders, powerful thighs! check it out!'"

"'powerful thighs'?" someone snorted.

"and okay, it's embarrassing that i just said 'powerful thighs', because yeah. but if you think of a synonym that doesn't come from a romance novel, let me know."

"hmm," said wax, "nope, mmm, nothing."

so, yeah. thighs. and at the moment--and i don't deny the possibility my brain my have been partially eaten by this picture--i'm finding the layered tshirts really hot too. um.

eta: [livejournal.com profile] hollsk, authority on all things canadian, assures me that i am not, in fact hallucinating, that some people do look canadian and that hewlett is one of them. score! <3
