i hope he never lets me down again
1 Sep 2005 10:45 pmwe went to see the island because it was getting stuffy both physically and metaphorically in the apartment. (it hit 20* C outside today, and since it's been chilly the past week or so the windows were closed.) i won't review the movie or anything. it wasn't particularly good, but it was cinematographically gorgeous and we both enjoyed it, and despite being blond (generally my anti-preference), scarlett johansson is hot like a really really hot thing. also it um. may have made me want to purchase a track suit (but that doesn't matter! because there is no money for tracksuits, so i am saved from my crazy impulses).
also,
isilya has finally posted her own harlequin challenge story: a sheppard/mckay australian outback romance. usually i don't bother with insta-recs, just stick the recs in my webpage, but i feel justified in mentioning this one especially because i sat and watched it grow from a few paragraphs to a full-fledged gorgeous story that makes me wibble, that is just the sort of thing i am going to print out and bind so i can curl up with it and some chocolate under a lamp when my seasonal depression starts to hit1. anyway, it's called a blue true dream of sky, and she hasn't posted it at
sga_flashfic, but everyone should absolutely read it right away.
in other-other news, i cannot seem to get started on my own harlequin story2--which is all plotted in my head--because no matter how hard i will it to, the initial scene refuses to solidify in my brain. does it take place in the copy room? in the rain outside of a fancy restaurant? in the elevator? in the lobby? where?
1. bound to be soon. it's september, which in finland is practically winter already.
2. the one where rodney will only pay for john's mother's cancer treatment if john marries him, not the one where john is a secretary who gets a makeover which causes rodney to notice him--i am still hoping somebody else will write the latter.
