yesterday i went to two spanish classes to see which one would be appropriate, spanish 2 (for which i awoke at 6) or spanish 4 (for which i stayed out of the house till 16.20). level 2 was too easy - although i had to use my dictionary the first day of class, it is nonetheless clear that i know all the material and spanish 3 is what i should really take (but can't, because it conflicts with sociological methodology). spanish 4 would have been easy when i stopped studying spanish years ago. i understood about 90% of everything, but i couldn't seem to produce any speech. it was like one of those nightmares where you're trying to talk and open your mouth and simply can't think of any words at all - when i was trying to tell the teacher this i forgot how to say "ninety", "talk", and "remember", among other things.
in spite of that level 4 looked really fun, and if we can get the minimum number of participants i will keep it since the teacher is anxious to get to hold it. (we're two short, so it probably actually won't happen.) well, level 2 won't hurt me. and i really like the professor.
ps. miss manners was hilarious today.
