on top of problems with my ipod charging - which may be solved now (knock on wood) - i am also having difficulties of late with my beloved cordless optical mouse, which has suddenly started lagging terribly in its reception - failing to click things without three or four tries, skipping and moving erratically, selecting things and dragging them when i just want to click, selecting the wrong direction when i want to select. as usual, the hardware manufacturer's troubleshooting and faqs are almost completely useless. i will be heartbroken if this proves to be the end of my mouse. this mouse is tiny and just heavy enough, and has always been beautifully precise anywhere - the arm of my chair, my knee, even the palm of my hand. i've almost never had any trouble with the cordless reception, either. that's why this is especially vexing, because it's suddenly acting like an inferior trackball mouse with a dirty trackball. this has thrown off my mood completely, making me distracted and anxious over leaving for school soon.

in spanish conversation today we were introduced to an atrocious and outdated spanish pop artist named juan luis guerra. what is it with foreign language teachers and their taste in music? maybe just that they're old? at least this time she told us the time period so, you know, if you want a bit of atmosphere for a scene in a 70s (no - 80s? *has already forgotten*) discotheque in latin america i guess guerra is your man.

whereas the swedish teacher two years ago tried to actually tell us that a representative sample of swedish music was eva dahlgren, bo kaspers orkester and tomas ledin, and then she was like, "oh yeah, and there are also these guys named kent. you might have heard of them, i think some people like them". BITCH PLEASE. i've only now succeeded in scrubbing the foulness that was that stupid tomas ledin song out of my brain.

is juan luis guerra actually that foul? not quite, because the lyrics are cheesier but at least the music is bouncy and latin. but the lyrics - the lyrics.

cimness: like, it was. one was about oral sex with an extended metaphor about how he wanted to be a FISH and swim around all night in her "wetness" and touch her "fishbowl" with his nose.
aes: ....
aes: uh. what. the hell? XD
