5 Dec 2006 08:03 pmthere's a department christmas party on friday and i don't want to go. i don't like parties unless they're in the house of a friend and there aren't that many people there. but even worse, i have to bring a secret santa present "worth a few euros" and that means that first i have to buy such a thing. maybe a bunch of loose-leaf tea would be good (whom am i kidding? ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
isilya's suggestions are always good). but still, i don't want to go shopping.
there are only three class meetings left for my spanish class. despite the fact that noora and eeva-sofia spent two hours boring me about colombia past and present today, i'm really going to miss this class. the professor gave back a corrected class summary with a personal note scribbled in the corner in red pen that's. kind of making me tear up. there's nothing i can do! it's the highest level class offered. i guess i could start going to the spanish movies they screen for free at el rincón latino in the hopes of running into some of them.
i am so sadly procrastinatey. all i want to do is write, not read conflict and compromise in multilingual societies: finland. it's actually a pretty great book, but... i just don't want to read it right now. but after monday my last exam will be done and i will have tons of free time to gorge myself on tv and movies, write, and bake.
oh, wait, actually. todayaeslis happened to point me to an entry that i'd just recently seen cited on fandom wank, not to mock the OP but for the moron in this thread, who finds herself qualified to speak about whether having a "muse" is crazy by virtue of being "an avid student of literature" and also flings around a whole lot of post-modernism. well, we all know how i feel about post-modernism is basically unprintable (when not actually incoherent), but she's so incredibly tl;dr and unconsciously ridiculous while so determined to prove her intellectual superiority that it's actually pretty entertaining. there's also a kind of awesome Clash of Empiricism and Rationalism towards the end which resolves with the combatants kissing and making up (rather like professor-au-#1!jun and aiba).
