'Oh yes, she's bound to! As far as I can make out, you practically have to testify, if you're God-controlled.'

'But you don't talk about God at dinner! Damme, it's not decent!'

having tried and failed twice already to find out from wax why a box of green tea was languishing in a paper shopping bag on our livingroom floor, i eventually gave up and put it in the cupboard with the rest of the tea, but yesterday when V was here and i was fixing tea it came to mind, so i demanded with some asperity, "why did you buy green tea?" (with the intention of pursuing, "you don't even like it!", or at least "you've never bought that kind before".)

"i didn't," she said, "V did."

and then i was kind of stuck like this: :O and unable to think of any graceful way to continue the conversation, so i just said "oh".
