Criminal Minds: Morgan/Garcia (sort of)

Today fanfic taught me that Kirsten Vangsness has a blog, and Kirsten's blog taught me that she and Shemar Moore are nail-painting buddies. Apparently she also loves him for his forearms, so it looks like a case of life imitating art (or, I suppose, vice versa). This is awesome. And I think we should get a nail-painting scene in canon.

On another note, Lily is trying to rack up as many Baddest Cat in the World points as possible and has already this morning:

1. Restarted my computer by leaning heavily on the Windows key while I was typing an IM.


2. Head-butted the bottom of my mug while I was drinking hot tea, spilling tea down my sleeve and on my sweater.


3. Stepped on the iron cord while I was ironing, practically knocking the iron off the table.

Pete/Patrick pro soccer AU?

Last week when we went out for French food, wax was like, "So I was thinking, what if Pete had just become a pro soccer player, and he played for like -" I forget where she said, some Latin American place maybe.

So of course I said "Hmmm, but how would he meet Patrick?" (To me, this is the point of any given AU - well, I mean, not Pete and Patrick, obviously, because some AUs are in other fandoms, but the OTP in question, I mean. Because while an AU about Pete being a pro soccer player who didn't even know the other guys could be cool, it's not really my bag.)

So in the end we decided that Patrick is homies with Jay-Z because, even without Pete to discover his singing voice at age 16, he's gonna be on the scene and in bands and be a brilliant producer and eventually SOMEONE will notice the Voice, right? So he's probably featured in someone else's top 40 single and Pete might recognise his name, eventually, although probably not in the moment they meet. I think we can all agree that Patrick is cuter and more irresistable than a basket of kittens, or a pile of Brendon Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and Jon Walker all cuddling; so it's credible that Pete would be drawn to him, plus he's kind of got a really hot mouth. And opinions about music, right, and obviously Pete would be down with anyone who chills with Jay-Z. But then what?

And then because wax is kind of bad at making up plots on the spur of the moment in fast-moving conversation, we didn't really get any further with that. I tried to point out that wax doesn't know, like, much of anything about pro soccer, but she insists there's nothing to know. "You just hang with your teammates and play soccer and stuff! And travel around half of the time." I can't help thinking there's a little more to it.

Bonus ancedote. Surrounded by idiots. I had never bothered to check my score on the first theory midterm for statistics, and I just looked now at the homepage to make sure the second theory test isn't tomorrow morning, and - there are fifty-five people in this class, and even though the theory tests are entirely made up of true-false questions, there were only two perfect scores and two 19/20s in the entire class. I took that test in five minutes. With the flu. And got a perfect score. Someone on the list made a negative three. (Wax: Minus? How can they have a minus? Me: Because there's True, False, and Don't Know, and you're supposed to pick that if you aren't sure because getting a true or false wrong is a deduction.) She asked me if my classmates are morons? They really, really are.


PS. Did I mention that I no longer hate My Chemical Romance's music? :| Goddamn you, wax. :| Over the weekend I may have been overheard discussing the melodicness and songwriting awesomeness of the last album. :|!!!!!! Metal is... possibly the only music genre I can think of that I've always had an active aversion to.
