This is posted with Linux! Actually it's posted with the appropriate Linux-compatible lj client, but I'm running Linux on my computer now. Wax actually did most of the work and I haven't even read the manual yet, but I still feel accomplished after my hours of getting settled, configuring important programs, and figuring out how to install window decorations in KDE (Wax's preference. I kinda liked Gnome better this morning when I tried it out, but we quickly ran up against this problem where the right-click menu wasn't the same or something, and she pointed out that the free tech support from her is easier on KDE).
For the LOSE, though, I still can't get my music, pictures, fonts, bookmarks, etc off of her harddrives, because for some reason, while logging into a Linux computer remotely with Windows is incredibly easy, creating a Linux-Linux LAN for easy filesharing is somehow beyond our current intelligence, and must wait until the impressively leet Brother Linux is awake.
Oh, and also, we spent four fangirl hours at the Shamrock Café today and it was delightful, full of poor wait service, way too much food, camwhoring, and discussion of Frank's monster cock. But I can't figure out how to get the pictures off my camera, either.
