goth sneakers have more fun

I was like, "Um, 39/40 European and 8.5/9 US women's..." and the shop girl was like, "No, see, you must want a SEVEN," and I was like, um, no, I really don't want a seven, I know what size shoes I wear and have worn for ten years, but she brought out six and a halfs and sevens and then came back with eights before she finally fetched the nines that I originally asked for. Then I was like, "Look, I know what's wrong with your sizing chart - these are actually boys' sizes that you've listed here. See how it says 40 = 7 on both sides? But men's and women's US sizes aren't the same." She was oblivious, though. "No, these are women's sizes." Except for how they AREN'T. And I tried one more time with "Actually in America men's and women's sizes are staggered - the men's are bigger," and she was like, "Hahaha, these charts aren't just for Vans." It's not Vans! It's YOU! But then I gave up. Oh well.
