New email from my little sister:

mommy confused chanukkah with passover. so she was roasting an egg for the first time instead of cheating and boiling it, and i was like "is it going to explode in the oven?" and she didn't know. so she took it out to give it to rosy [the dog] and tried to crack it on the stovetop, and IT REALLY DID EXPLODE. all over the stovetop!!!!!!!

. . . AHAHHAHAHA. They just get weirder.

Meanwhile, I've just had the most vivid nightmare I can remember for a long time. Not that it's sensible or, indeed, that scary when you look at it now. )

ETA, new email:

and she bought a shank bone and didn't buy yeast for the challa, so she had to go back to the store!

Some of these you've seen before if you're on my friendslist. I just thought I'd like to offer up some spares that aren't doing anyone any good on my harddrive. I haven't shared any icons since [livejournal.com profile] guinevere33's and my ex-community vanished. No comments necessary, but credit is.

[livejournal.com profile] perhael made me a Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert badfic comic book for my birthday!

The Tragic, Emotional Love Story of Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert (Who Are Totally Soulmates, and Also Jon Is a Sub)! )

The hard copy of this (BOUND with little YARN BOWS) is now sitting on my computer being periodically caressed. ♥

Wax is wearing a silver W necklace that my favourite cousins picked out for me from my maternal-maternal great-grandmother's jewelry box. None of her names ever began with a W - she is an Evelyn - but her mother's name was Wilhelmina. On the other hand, I don't think they made this sort of jewelry in the first decade of the 20th century, and Wilhelmina died before my mother was born. So the source of the W is a mystery, but it's a happy coincidence. Also from the same collection:

I'm in love with the lime green one.
