Silicone muffin pans.
17 Feb 2008 08:14 pmI am determined to buy them tomorrow (or, ok, the day after, if Wax doesn't remember to share the newfound wealth with me) and make carrot cake muffins. Also, a new batch of brownies. The last ones got slightly singed, and also, they didn't taste just like my Momma's. And I accidentally used twice as much salt as they called for. Or maybe three times. Oops. (Hey, usually that doesn't hurt, and I sort of... went on autopilot! But okay, mental note: not in the chocolate baked desserts.) The other great thing about silicone baking forms is that they're so smooth and shiny. And colourful. And I absolutely loathe paper muffin cups. Despicable things.
In other news, I'm still plodding along, adding my old recs page's contents to http://del.icio.us/cimness/ . All my Due South, Good Omens, and Highlander bookmarks are now there, in addition to The Professionals, which was there already, and fragmentary (recent) portions of my other reading. I've been itching to delete the recs page as it is from existence, so I've been trying to convert faster (I'm surprised more people haven't removed me from their delicious networks out of pique at the sudden flood of old fandom flashbacks...). Once I've got it all uploaded to delicious I can scrap the current version and make a new and far more streamlined recs page, limited to, er, the very-highly-recommended things (read: things I want to rhapsodise about more than will fit in the delicious description box). Alas, I've just started on Harry Potter recs, which is one of the longest pages obviously, and I've still got some other big ones ahead of me. (I think Due South was actually THE biggest, though: still the favourite fandom of my heart1, really, though I think Harry Potter is probably the fandom I've read the most constantly - which is mainly because it's so huge it can provide a constant source of reading material.)
1. Kirk/Spock is the OTP of my heart and Star Trek is the show of my heart, and Holmes/Watson is a close runner-up there, but the fanfiction in due South is, if possible, just as sublime as the canon.
