I've moved all the Pirates of the Caribbean recs to my delicious now too. There are just over a hundred of them, with a fair number of Jack/Will/Elizabeth (my ot...3) and a sprinkling of Will/Elizabeth. Most of them are Jack/Will because that was by far the biggest pairing just after the first movie came out, when I did most of this reading, before that first big wave of Jack/Norrington.

Now I'm getting ready to move the Sports Night section and try to hunt down all the West Wing ones (that was one of the first fandoms I read, contemporary with my first ventures out of Star Trek in search of other media fandoms, back in 2001 - and alas, most of the links are broken now). Wax and I are planning to start rewatching at the beginning. It should be an experience, because I was a devotee in high school, long before the era of the dvd box set, and had to try to catch every episode as it came on tv. I never saw the first season in its entirety, and after I went away to college I gradually stopped finding time (mainly due to roommates who wanted to watch Dawson's Creek or some similar horrific bilge), and was reliant on my mother's ability to tape it off of television for me. It should be almost like seeing it for the first time.

Oh! So I saw Terminator 2 the other day, and I loved it.

If you've ever thought "Hey, why does the male vocalist from Aqua sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger?" - or if you haven't, but now you're going, "Hey, yeah!" - or if you like both T2 and Aqua - then you should watch this T2 vid to "Barbie Girl" that was posted in [livejournal.com profile] vidding a little while ago. It's a hilarious crack vid with lots of totally deliberate talky-face and pink trim and lies somewhere between a regular vid and a constructed reality. The idea is briliant and the execution is pretty good, although it's not as polished as the work of a highly skilled and practised vidder.

Then we started watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (no spoilers past episode 4), and I looked around for some more vids to that. And, okay, for some reason, YouTube is absolutely filled with shitty John/Cameron shipper vids to what's in a fair way to becoming the entire discography of Evanescence, plus some Within Temptation and a smattering of Amy Lee's side projects. Seriously, dudes. Ahahahahhahahahahha. It's like some bizarre time-vortex trip back to the World of Generic Bad Vidding from five years ago (except, okay, for a distinct lack of Sarah McLachlan).

WHICH BRINGS ME to my point: wouldn't it be great to learn vidding just so I could make one to Nightwish? If you're going to mix metal with cheesy LOTR soundtrack ripoffs and fake-ren faire stuff, why not go to the king of pretentious cheesy LOTR!metal, that loser dude who writes/composes for Nightwish? (Seriously? "Bye Bye Beautiful"? You seriously want to record that, let alone put it on the radio? It's practically too embarrassing to listen to; I can't imagine how the new vocalist stands it.)

Anyway, if I suddenly post a SCC vid to "7 Days to the Wolves", you'll know that all the fumes from adding my recs page to delicious have finally gotten to me, or else the continued snowing even though it's MARCH and is supposed to be SPRING now has.
