cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (wtf?)
∞ I've never filled my 100-gig hard drive in the several years since we bought it because we store video files on Wax's 300-gig and the external. But after all this time, I've finally filled it - my music collection is at 70gb, which completely fills the main media partition. Nobody wants to keep their music collection in two separate hard drives, so it was time to shop. Considering how slowly I add media, and that our media drives are nowhere near full, another 100g would have been adequate. The store had nothing so small of course, and rather than shop around, Wax bought a terabyte for €99. It's really shiny of course but - really? That should last us for, like, 10 years.

∞ 100 days of Citaloprex costs €100 to the end user if they have Finnish national health benefits. The scary thing is that that is the cheap price.

∞ One nice thing about the difference between a 30A and a 32F bra size: the tiny-cup bras are cute and playful. Another nice thing? They're really cheap. The brand that fits me best is called "6ixty 8ight", and they run €18-€20, but Wikke had bunches of them on clearance because my size is so small that nobody buys it. So while Wax had to buy a Triumph "business bra" (what the fuck would a business bra be and how does that make any sense) in matte taupe with pinstripes and pay, idk, 40 smackers, I got two tiny, cute ones in blue and brown lace print and leopard with lace and turquoise satin trim respectively, for under €15 total. Wax moaned about that a bit.

∞ I had a dream that Justin Long lived quite near us and we were acquainted from before Live Free or Die Hard and that he had once brought Bruce Willis to dinner with us at my parents' house (in my dreams my parents generally live in driving distance of Wax & me). In the dream, though, when I was waving to him where he was chilling on top of a building nearby (?), I was thinking, Did he really do that, or did I just dream it? Also, we were both way more stoked about dinner with him than with Bruce. Go fig.

∞ The tv shows in my marathoning/catching up with queue (that is to be added to the shows we already follow - Leverage, Dollhouse, Criminal Minds, CSI, Supernatural and - LOL - Harper's Island) are as follows
  • Hustle (because it's like Leverage, even if not as funny, but the cast is smokin' and MARC WARREN)

  • Spooks (because WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME that Rupert Penry-Jones was a regular on a years-old show?)

  • Boston Legal (because my level of William Shatner ♥ has finally grown above my suspicion of legal dramas)

∞ We were supposed to gorge ourselves on Pinto and Kradam vids (alternating) from YouTube two days ago and failed to get around to it! It must be done today, before Wax goes back to work. But I also have to install the harddrive, so. Also I need a Zach Quinto icon, I think. I keep forgetting to look for one.
cimorene: closeup of a large book held in a woman's hands as she flips through it (reading)
  1. Summary: Both of affection of food turn into food fight.

  2. Title: I don't know (seriously, I don't o.O)

  3. Disclaimer: It would be really fun, if you could just order them online, and in a week they would arrive in a box all plastered with signs saying FRAGILE on them.

  4. Author's notes: I posted this on a different site, and realized it wasn't getting enough love and that it would fit perfectly here, I don't know why I hadn't uploaded it before. It sorta sucks though so don't hate me too much.

  5. Summary: Brendon's slowly adjusting to his new life living in The Joker's lair, the things that come with it and the distance between him and his old friends. Not to mention The Joker himself, and the cops that now know of the connection he has with him, and their desire to break it.

Credit for #s 1-3 to [personal profile] aeslis again ♥! Anyone else has any hilarious plebefic headers, feel free to send them over. I'm not reading *every* fandom (I've only read Kradam from recs lists...). But I've spent a while spelunking and recovered my stores, plus with the lovely Aes's help there should be no more DOPH (denial of plebefic headers) for a while.

Get a load of THIS baby. It's been a while since I've seen such a disastrously mixed science/mumbo-jumbo metaphor:

The two were polar opposites of one another, and when they were together the air seemed to change perceptibly around them. Molecules broke down and rematerialized, energizing the air with a weird brand of oxygen that contained some unidentifiable element that was unmistakably them. When the two were together, those around them felt at east; right, in a way they could never quite explain. And if one of them happened to leave the room, leaving the other behind, it was as if a light bulb had suddenly gone out. Everything sort of…dimmed. There needs to be a name for it, Karl thought. He wondered how they did it. Surely there must be a trick. Chemistry, he thought. Weird, but it makes sense. They seemed to coexist and feed off the most primal mixture of chemistry and physics, and it worked for them, it made sense. (here)

Note that the tag "badfic" isn't necessarily accurate beyond the paragraph quoted, but I have to be able to find my old posts somehow.

This must be from Finland. I can't even count the amount of times Finns have made this mistake out loud to me:

The local system doesn't differentiate between V and W for purposes of alphabetization so it's easy to see how this potentially could happen, I suppose, although when it eventually comes down to simply remembering which is which - ie, for non-novices - it gets a lot harder to understand. I presume they know that one method is for Russian (and some other languages) and one is for English and simply can't match them up on the spur of the moment.
