I've talked before about our paper's (Hufvudstadsbladet's) supremely bad headline writing. I've come to suspect that they hired one headline writer (perhaps a gradeschool child or a drunk or a Creationist) for the entire paper, because the uniformity of uninformative, misleading, and redundant headlines is so very widespread.

My favorite up to now was definitely "Teen Suicide Worrying", but there was also last week's headline that took two full lines and boiled down to "ANGRY CAT IS ANGRY". Then there's today's shocker in the food section, "You Don't Have To Be Italian To Like Italian Food". O RLY, newspaper? Wait, wait, newspaper, I'm having an epiphany! This one simple yet elusive fact may be the key to explaining something that's always puzzled me: the overwhelming worldwide popularity and universal presence of Italian food!
