Plebefic headers: I didn't really choose the characters or story so much as it chose me

2. Characters/Pairings: Adam Lambert/David Archuleta, Lamchuleta?
   Warnings: Mentions of terminal illness and some light petting
   Summary: Adam would never thought that he could find his kind of perfect in somebody like David Archuleta. Having seen the world through his eyes, a world of sex and dirty dealings, he found innocence and perfection through the kind and sincere David.
   Could they ever get together, coming from different worlds?



3. NOTES: Normally I’m not a big fan of posting in chapters, but this fic covers a span of about 8 months in the characters’ lives, and my beta and I agree that pacing it with time between sections is the best fit for this story. I plan to post at least once a week, and the fic is already complete so there is no danger of it being abandoned. (I promise!) [Note: The story was under 10,000 words, and the writer got into some wank in the fandom comms about it. It's not about feedback; her concern is totally for the ART.]



4. Everything was fine in Brendon's world until a new leader forced everyone to have children to "repopulate." Brendon has a baby with Audrey and thought everything was going great until two horrible accidents leave women unable to bear children but give men the ability to have children. Then the whole country changes again. Brendon and a few of his friends are forced to become Carriers. They are forced to have sex with Commanders and try to become pregnant. If they do become pregnant they carry the baby and give it to the Wife of the Commanders. Brendon misses his old life, and especially his child, but soon he finds himself falling for his Commander. And the new leader has a past with his Carrier, whom he loves, to this day, and whom he is sure loves him back.



5. Note to my usual readers: You might not like this story because of the language and some of the situations and scenes. And the presence of Captain Jack Harkness. I'm sorry if you don't but I hope you'll give it a shot anyway. I didn't really choose the characters or story so much as it chose me, and I cannot possibly write Jack any other way than what he is. It's what makes him Jack Harkness. Enjoy the lighter moments while you can because this story gets a bit dark. Because it has to. Hence the title. These are two very damaged individuals, and that's canon for them. Hopefully I'll get them to a lighter shade of midnight by the end.
   
   While writing Flirting Jack can be a lot of fun, I actually see the relationship between the Doctor and Jack to be more like that of teacher and student, since under the Doctor's influence, Jack went from being a coward, a con man and a criminal to being a hero. He even learned to be monogamous, which is completely against his nature and was considered antiquated by his society. That's a pretty big jump. He did it for the Doctor and admits freely to it. So yeah, I think that's very sweet. But they both went through Hell itself during that little journey, they both made terrible mistakes, and they're both paying for those mistakes. These are haunted men. I hope to see them heal a bit. And if anyone is interested, I need a beta reader familiar with Dr Who and Lord of the Rings canon. Please be a grammar nazi. Other than that, I'm praying this will break the horrible writer's block I've been fighting for…well…actually years now. Wish me luck.
