I guess I'll continue randomly selecting movies until I think of another show to marathon.

There's also a very irritating known bug in VLC in the newest version of Ubuntu and I tried all three suggested fixes to no effect so now I'm using Totem, which frequently crashes when you insert a DVD, besides being only half able to handle DVD menus and not allowing shortcut reprogramming so you have to hit ctrl+s every time you want a screencap. Eugh! Keep waiting for a fix for VLC to trickle down with ill-concealed impatience.

(If this had been listed in the Known Issues page for Quantal Quetzal, I definitely would not have installed the latest version. But of course you don't find out that this type of issue is known to people until you type 'Why fucking sound broken staticky VLC Ubuntu 12.10' into Google.)
