So Finland, like most of the world, is currently having a historic heatwave again, and it’s been around 30° C (86° F) the past couple of weeks, and since we, like most of Finland, don’t have a/c, it’s been around 27° or so (80+) even inside most of that time, even at night.
Cornish rexes are, as
waxjism first described them to me when she told me what kind of cat she had when we were dating, “heat-seeking missiles of snuggle”, even when it’s hot. (BB has still spent most of her time the past few weeks in a sunbeam!) And so they habitually divide up the humans and snuggle with one human apiece at night… unless one of those humans makes it difficult, as Wax has been doing recently because she’s too hot to snuggle.
So I’ve been lucky if I escaped trying to fall asleep blanketed in cats from knee to collarbone recently. One night I was so exasperated that I whipped my phone out in the dark and drew the above right doodle on it over Snookums’s head. The corresponding doodle of Wax was completed the next morning.
