cimorene: A shaggy little long-haired bunny looking curiously up into the camera (bunny)
One effect of this moving/renovation is that I haven't gotten ANY knitting done in ages because I haven't spent enough time sitting in one place and watching things to make progress; the times I've been in front of the computer for long enough, I couldn't have relaxed and watched something that would allow me to knit, and instead was restlessly scrolling and reloading stuff constantly. Usually also jumping up and running off to check some remembered task periodically.

Example: we picked a place for Sir Douglas Jones, our giant monstera plant, in the new house, a wall where he can be high up, his air roots can be away from bunnies, and he can be facing a south window. We haven't moved him there yet because the wall in question isn't painted. We were already planning to keep a tall sideboard cabinet on that wall, though, so we came up with a wall-mounted shelf a bit higher up so that no cats would be able to jump up on it and disturb Dougie, and since then I've been worrying because we don't own an appropriate shelf. Yesterday I actually bought some shelf brackets, after spending several hours trying to research what the most appropriate ones would be (I was worried about how much weight they carry etc), only for Wax to point out when we got home that we had decided to put the sideboard somewhere else and therefore have plenty of space for a plant stand, so we no longer need a shelf.

In the same trip I bought a motion-activated stick-on LED light to put inside the under-stairs mini closet that houses the cat litter box, because when I opened it to put the cat litter in it seemed dark to me, and it didn't occur to me until we got the light to work that the cats have been using covered litter boxes without lights inside their whole lives and might not actually want a light to come on every time they go to the can. (I guess we'll use the light in our closet once we build it?)

...this whole post is also a perfect example of the constant side-tracking that illustrates why I haven't gotten any knitting done. (I'm going to get a new GP once the pandemic is over, and then I'm going to talk to them about ADHD diagnosis stuff! It just doesn't seem urgent enough to require going to the health center right now. But this is certainly inconvenient.)

But sadly I have a finished sweater waiting to have the zipper sewn in, another sweater that's done except for one and a half sleeves (I hate sleeves), another sweater that I was dying to make for a whole year before I started it and which I've done about 15% of, a planned sweater with a pile of wool all waiting, and my most beloved lounging-around-the-house alpaca bouclé sweater to replace because I've worn it to pieces so I need to buy some more bouclé and remake it (but with a longer hem, shorter sleeves, and a big cowl neck this time, because I've been wearing a shawl wrapped around my head and neck nearly every day in this house).
