20 Jan 2021 08:55 pmWork practice is going fairly okay. At the work, it's going well, even; but in terms of my progress at building up how much energy I use each day, just a bit okay. I still don't have energy to cook after getting home (I could probably manage sandwiches or whatever if I lived alone). I have only gone to bed super early twice though, so it could be worse. My feet still hurt 100% of the time, but it's not the agony it was when I started at Kontti. Not sure if the memory foam insoles have something to do with this, but they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.
I like the place, and I think I have a pretty positive opinion of the chain/brand as well at this point, although there are a few curious features that seem inefficient. I'm having a good time there so far though, and I got taught how to use the... little warehouse (non-fork) lift truck thing where you and your little chariot get to zoom up high along with the platform so you can move around to get little boxes and things to put on it. Today my boss was walking around on top of the top shelf which was maybe fifteen, twenty feet up? The shelves are really huge, not particularly dangerous. I instantly was like I WANT TO GO UP THERE! (Why do I love heights? How can a person love heights? Shouldn't that be like an evolutionary disadvantage?) I'm sure I'll have my chance sooner or later, although normally you don't have to get out of the chariot to get the stuff.
I've gotta do a couple of online courses before I can use the cash register. Unfortunately that means they've gotta find a time where they don't need me for anything else and nobody else needs the office computer for me to do them, though.
