My design tumblr
designobjectory is approaching 3000 followers and the speed at which it accumulates spam reblogs and comments has apparently risen slightly (after first passing some kind of spam threshold that my personal blog doesn't meet, but that was a while ago). Now it's probably an average of several spambots to report from my notifications page per week, but it's not unusual to get new ones two or three days in a row.
I'm not sure which is weirder, the spambots that just reblog things out of specific tags and then paste some scraped content containing keywords and a link to a supposed store at the bottom of each reblog, or the spambots that actually just go around replying to posts in the tag claiming to be looking for sugar babies. At least the reply-spam that wants to sell naked pictures is at least potentially just trying to sell naked pictures. I've gotta assume the bots spraying their grammatically-weird search for sugarbabies all over interior design related tags are part of some larger clicks-and-eyeballs and/or malware related scam.
