Just give me the damn sweater

When you're getting closer to finishing a knitting project it's very easy to keep staying up later than you meant to, because the next milestone always seems really close and stopping before the end of the section or whatever seems silly. But this is the second night in a row I was up late thinking I was almost done with the bottom ribbing of my new cardigan, and I couldn't stop myself from trying to start the buttonband. That will ultimately take several days, I'm sure.

Anubis/Hanukka and other cats

1-2. Anubis no longer thinks that fire is fucked up. He loves to watch the fire, so predictably, he's also fascinated by candles! Here he's contemplating the Stumpastaken hanukkiya and looking very zen. Every now and then he brings his little nose closer, and while he seems to be exercising caution still... I've already ordered the wire cage to go over the candles. I don't trust him.
3. Snookums still wants to cuddle, even though the radiator is right there. Don't get me wrong, he still ditches me for it, but he comes back a few times a day, anyway.
4. Tristana birdwatching when I opened the curtains this morning
5-6. Tristana and Snookums happily coming back to the blanket cave after venturing out for food.
